Get Year

Use =YEAR() as in =YEAR(A1).

Be careful with formatting. To get the current year, you can use =NOW() or =TODAY() and format as yy or yyyy to get 04 or 2004. (You can use the TEXT function as in =TEXT(TODAY(),"yyyy") also)
